RALEIGH INSTITUTE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES was founded in 1995 by Dr. William Suttles with a vision to train the Next Generation of Christian ministers. This Institute offers Bible College level courses designed to equip and enhance the ministries of called men and women of God. We do this with two programs of study: we have combined our First Saturday Morning Seminary classes with a Second Saturday Morning Seminary class to form an Associates in Christian Ministerial Studies degree program; and as a part of the Christian Life Educators Network, we also offer Christian Life School of Theology courses at our school on a regular basis (normally on the third weekend of each month except July and December. Through RIBS you can take courses through Home Study making it possible for you to earn your degree in your own home and at your own pace. The courses of study at RIBS are non-accredited on purpose: we believe that trying to meet a generic academic standard in the long run has the effect of robbing the teaching of its spiritual impact which we believe is essential to the true edification of the student. This is why our slogan is Ministerial Training in Word & Spirit; there is simply no way that the impartation of the Holy Spirit can be "accredited." Our courses are designed to minister as well as teach. When you take a course at RIBS you will notice that place is given to working of the Holy Spirit through the teaching. While the teaching itself is of a very high academic quality and even surpasses that of many accredited institutions, our goal is to educate the spirit as well as the mind. RIBS is Evangelical with a Charismatic emphasis; our teaching strives always for spiritual illumination while remaining steadfastly true to biblical orthodoxy.
At Raleigh Institute of Biblical Studies you can work at your own pace and take as much time as you need in order to complete your program of study; for instance, you can attend a First Saturday Morning Seminary class which interests you (or a Second Saturday Morning Seminary Class) without having to be enrolled in the Associates program (and earn a Certificate in Ministerial Studies for every ten classes attended over any period of time). For these classes you can register at the door (paying by check or cash) or you can Register on-line using your credit card for any of our courses of study or to order materials.
